More than 150,000 fans expected to attend Tennessee vs Virginia Tech college football game at Bristol motor speedway

It is estimated that more than 150,000 fans are relied upon to go to this current weekend's game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech at Bristol Motor Speedway. That would be the largest crowd for a college football game in current history. It would smash the NCAA single-game record of 115,109, set in 2013 when Michigan beat Notre Dame 41-30 at the Big House.

Both teams have underscored the significance of keeping up center and not getting occupied by the air at Bristol, Tenn., found generally somewhere between the two schools.

If we look back the previous record an estimated 199,854 fans watched Brazil vs Uruguay at Maracana during the 1950 World Cup.

On Oct. 13, 1928, at Chicago's Soldier Field. An expected horde of 120,000 viewed Notre Dame rout rival Navy 7-0. The group matched the number who saw Notre Dame edge USC at the same venue the prior year — however the real number of sold tickets for the diversion against the Trojans was recorded at 99,573, while the Navy amusement had 103,081 paid, so it gets the edge.
